What Do You Like Most About Being a Dentist?
Dr. Akbar feels proud every day to empower her patients by teaching them how they can take full control of their oral health! Not only does she help them achieve a beautiful, healthy smile, but she gives them the tools and insight needed to maintain it over time. Take a look at this glowing review by a former patient of hers:
“This compliment is long overdue. I am writing to express my high regard for Dr. Akbar and the quality of her services. I am continually impressed by her professionalism, her attentiveness, by the thoroughness of her method, by her collegial approach, and by her affable chair-side manner.”
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Akbar comes from a big family as the youngest of four kids. Her dad is a hard-working ENT physician – she definitely gets her work ethic and ambition from both parents! She also has four nieces and nephews. When she isn’t busy at work, her favorite hobbies include working out, doing yoga, traveling, enjoying nature in local parks and other cities, watching stand-up comedy, exploring Boston with friends, and practicing photography.
Dr. Akbar is also passionate about volunteer work. So far, she’s participated in five service trips, visiting Portugal, Thailand, Lebanon, Jamaica, and Texas. During these trips, she has built homes with Habitat for Humanity, taught children at local schools, prepared food for homeless youth, taught English to teens in refuge camps, renovating homes devasted by hurricanes, and provided vital dental services. She hopes in the future to do more good work for those in need!
