There are many different plans to choose from when selecting a BCBS policy, each with its own annual deductible, monthly premium, and annual maximum. As you will find, though, the benefits and coverage breakdown tend to look similar when opting to see an in-network dentist. You may find the following savings when it comes to your plan:
- 100% coverage for preventive services (i.e., dental checkups, dental exams, X-rays, etc.)
- 80% coverage for basic restorative services (i.e., dental fillings)
- 50% coverage for major restorative services (i.e., dental crowns, dentures, tooth extractions, etc.)
- 25-75% coverage for orthodontics (if included)
Not all BCBS plans include orthodontics, so it’s important to make sure that you review the stipulations if you or someone in your family requires braces.
